[RC] Two more lease/insurance questions - Mary Krauss

Someone who lives about 45 minutes from me is interested in full-care leasing my Andalusian gelding with an option to buy after three months. Should I be asking her to buy insurance? Should I be retaining the right to make all veterinary judgments? Does anyone have a great lease form handy I might see? I am uninformed regarding selling/leasing as I've done neither before. (BTW: the "free" three months are because she is going to see if she can continue his recovery from EPSM.)

Also, I have a lovely CMK mare who's developed arthritis in one leg from an old injury. I'd love to find someone who wanted to use her as a brood-mare but don't know how to go about discovering an interested/trustworthy person. I'm not interested in $$'s, just a job for her. (She is a terrific mother.) I missed the boat with her in regards to endurance--we were finally preparing for our first LD ride when she came up arthritic. The more I'm learning from you all about traits to look for in an endurance prospect, the more I want to cry when I look out in the field. She's built so beautifully and is so very strong and eager--all but that damned knee..... I'd breed her myself but know I'm already barely managing to keep on top of training my new 4-year-old gelding and my kids' fabulous but untrained pony.

Any ideas would be received gratefully,

Mary K. in Snohomish, Washington (lazykfarm at comcast dot net)

p.s. my apologies if this post is inappropriate in that it sort of advertises my horse. I plan to put an ad on Dreamhorse and on Ridecamp Classifieds as soon as I figure out what exactly it is I'm advertising....
