This sounds like the movie Pet semetary from Stephen King. There ....people wanted there dead pets back ... and got monsters instead.

I am not found of the whole cloning thing.

It's a true story and interview with a family that had a bull named Chance that was in lots of commercials, etc. They were extremely attached and he was very gentle. When he died, they managed to get him cloned. His clone has almost killed the man and he's still convinced it IS Chance. Pretty interesting to hear a man tell about a bull pinning him to the wall, and goring him so badly he "ripped open his testicles"...and still convinced this is the bull who loves him.
