I have always gotten a charge out of the marketing necessity to rename bacteria as "cultures". People would really freak if they were called by their common name "germs" PS. Yes I know that many people would say that "germs" are bad bacteria etc. But that is really the same thing as calling a flowering plant a "weed". Same thing, just an uncomplimentary name.
