Re: [RC] Knee injury - Sky Ranch

The no riding part is what's aggravating me more than anything.  I'm just
disgusted -- it's a beautiful day here today, the snow's melted, and my
horse is standing out there munching on hay and I'm sitting in here with an
aching knee.

Ok, everyone, I did break down and call yesterday, and have an appointment
with the orthopedic knee specialist in Durango.  She apparently does a lot
of knees, I'm sure they get a lot of similar injuries on the ski slopes
around here.

Thank you so much for all the very helpful advice -- the most prevalent one
was -- go see an orthopedic specialist.  And, I know you're all right.

But, Dr. Q, I would also love for you to come to my house and put me over
your knee!  Sounds like fun to me!

   Carla--
 Your description is very suspicious of medial meniscus damage and
possibly medial collateral ligament strain/tearing. Bite the bullet, see
a good orthopedist, likely get an MRI and go from there. It's much
better to get attention sooner than later. Ongoing inflammation in the
joint causes ongoing damage until it is arrested. Ice, light activity,
no exercise or riding (ARRGGH!) until you see the doctor. Don't make me
come to your house and put you over my knee.    Dr Q
