I have sold saddles, clothing and misc tack on
endurance.net classifieds. I have requested cashier's checks, but if buyer
prefers to pay with personal check I will notify them of a 10 day "hold" which
my bank says will give it time to clear. Some folks use Paypal, but I've
never set up an account for that purpose. I get the payment first.
If it's a cashier's check I send items right away. If it's an item that
they may try and return if they're not happy with it then I hold the check until
I know they are happy with the item and will deposit the check. I request
returns be done in a timely manner, usually 10 days or more by
arrangement. If they return the item to me (buyer pays return shipping)
then I simply return their check back to them. If it's a personal check
then I will issue them a personal check for refund. I must say I have
never had a negative experience. Everyone has been great to deal with and
some contacts have become new friends. Good luck and happy selling!
