[RC] John Lyons stuff - k s swigartL gin said: John Lyons premise is all on teaching the horse that you get a realise form pressure for doing the right thing. Starting with the rein as a cue...He keeps it simple, consistant, so the horse understands. But it is a different language than other more traditional methods that relay (sic) on "equipment". This statement cracks me up....ummmm...it's as if "the rein" isn't a piece of "equipment." As are, BTW, round pens and rope halters, etc. If John Lyons starts with the rein as a cue, he is relying on equipment. Differences in language come not in the choice to use equipment (or even necessairly in the choice of which equipment), but in how it is used. kat Orange County, Calif. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
