[RC] Keith: tights and social suicide - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Ray O'Donohue rno2m@xxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== Keith, these gals don't know how good they've got it in some ways.Tights indeed! But,here are some suggestions. 1)Is your saddle new? If so,submerge it overnight in the bath tub, then ride for a few hours in old throw-away clothes.Your seat position will move down and back in the saddle,as you and the saddle settle in,and your body position relative to (any type) of stirrup leathers and rigging will be altered, permanently. 2)Get some "Tuff-Foot" lotion (they have a web site),which is better than "Body-Glide",and put it everywhere that rubs/chafes. 3)Avoid jeans for now, altho you may be able to use them later.Old soft khakis are pretty good chafe-wise. 4) Get a pair of the cheap LIGHT gauge nylon brush chaps the bird hunter/field trialers use.You do NOT want heavy gauge. 5)In cool weather, wear fleece pants. 5)Hang in there, this has a way of working out-eventually. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
