Re: [RC] [RC] Putting on Easy Boots!!! - Karen Sullivan----- Original Message ----- From: "Nancy Mitts" <mitts_n@xxxxxxxxxxx> I have seen other people have trouble with the pull strap. VERY IMPORTANT: they come wrapped aroung the backstrap SO THEY WON'T COME OFF. This is important because if the boot is taken out of the box those straps got lost. *Note on the epics....I just cut out the heel strap; remove clear covers, mash down the metal prongs and cover with a couple layers of Duct tape..been using the epice since Nov. 05 with very good results. Of course, there is a wealth of info on Karen Chaton's easyboot pages..she has really tested out the epics (as well as Terry Bannister). Some problems can arise if the boots are sort of an inbetween size...we are using mesh inserts we cut out of an ULTI pad (National Bridle Shop) and Easycare also sells a foam insert.... A Karen Chaton trick that helps to get them on is to wet the gaiter the night before and fold back to dry; so they are out of the way when you put them on...my trick is to put the boots in the sun for maybe 10 minutes; they go on much better when warm. I also still like to tap them on with a hammer instead of twisting or pulling....
