[RC] Endurance: things that can go wrong-do - Roger RittenhouseHave not been posting much here on RC. Not much I care to comment on :) Short -Status Update.. of things Cancer GONE - PSA zip nada zero. thats done. House is sold here in Tellico Plains. Great House in BSF Big South Fork NRA - fell though, Things Go WRONG. What a mess that was. Bad, poor or no ethics and some illegal dealings. They sold the house out from under me.? go figure. Seems the local real estate shops and the local owners of land like to stick it to the 'outsiders'. No need suing in Fentress Cty, outsiders loose. No lawyer in Jamestown would talk to me. Let it go find another place. HAHA Search the net and go up there for 3 days looking. Need some land for 5 horses. A small lot wont work. No development, have to put up a $100K house and cannot take out the trees. Found 11 ac not cleared, has a small cabin horse barn and a nice shop building. Priced very high, see above, local to outsider - stickem. Made one offer then upped a bit. Priced out a 'modular' home - actually a prefab - nothing other then a up-scale double wide. Would work OK if the local took my offer. Local and his buddy agent mess around with me, not real sure, not ready, not quite close enough, need more $$$.. yep let it go. Not goin to get stuck this time. :) Was going to be a real mess to make it work. Lots of clearing, small weekender lots all along one side. So now what, Not good More going wrong. Now where to look? Call ENDURANCE riders in other riding areas in TN. Can always count on the 'family' What Goes Right Went to Santa Fe Tn Muray Cty, south of Franklin and Nashville. Found a great place right on the NPS Natchez Trace Trail. Priced great. Will put a damper on optional spending. :) The drive way is about 1000 ft from the horse trail. Location is mid way on the trail system. 15 miles in each direction plus all the loop get around trails and dirt roads. About 9 to 10 ? endurance riders live there, some quite famous. :) There is a new ride there this weekend. Cannot really go, Omni is not in shape and Carol works. Ride will go right by the place. Under contract- done no problems. Will close by end of April on both places. So to all the riders at Natchez Trace Trails.. "Hi, I is your new neighbor" :0 Party later this summer :)) What's this got to do with endurance.. this past year was like a 100 miler- I only did ONE, took 2 failed tries.. you got to enter to fail. This past year has given us many of life problems to deal with, as one does on a 100. You get pulled, get lost, get sick, go lame, get colic, go off trail, loose a horse, but if you keep going back and endure the problems, you will get to the end.. and win.
