RE: Re: [RC] How Long is Your Commute? - heidi28 miles one way currently, but almost all interstate. I am considering a job that is 56 miles one way for better working conditions. Yes, the sort of road you have to drive also makes a difference, and the time. No interstates in this neck of the woods, but much of my 23 miles is on a fairly uncomplicated 2-lane with minimal traffic. Worst part of mine is GETTING to the highway--takes 5-10 minutes to get down the dirt road from here to the highway (less than 2 miles, time depends largely on the time of year), and then a shade under 20 minutes to get the 21+ miles to town, unless it is icy. So my commute is generally a shade under half an hour. And I consider it to be short and quite livable, knowing what folks have to do in some other areas.
