Fw: [RC] [RC] Long Haul - Wrap or no? - Dot WigginsIf you are concerned about protecting legs, why not use good shipping boots? Very hard to get them too tight, good ones stay on well, and can be redone by anyone if they do slip. I've never been comfortable keeping wraps on too long, as on a several day trip on a long haul.IF they should start too tight, who's going to check on the road? IF they come loose, who will tend to them on the road? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Juli Jakub" <fahraway@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, March 13, 2006 6:05 PM Subject: Re: [RC] [RC] Long Haul - Wrap or no? On the other side I always wrap. My filly managed to rear once and get her legs in the manger in front of her. The vet said if she had not been wrapped she probably would have sheared through her tendons and would have had to be put down. She had seen that happen before with the same accident. Instead she just got a cut on her head and now I use a head bumper too. I would rather be safe then sorry. You never know when something could get out of hand and that extra protection could help save the horse from serious injury. Just my two cents though. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
