[RC] shoes - L ginI don't know, even before I considered going barefoot , my old very good farrier said that a horse has better traction barefoot than shod. It may just be the horse or the rider or where they were. Cause barefoot the whole foot or most of it makes contact and can expand and contract. But with shoes only the shoepart makes contact. It is true that studs and stuff will grip, but it puts lots more stress on the point where the stud is for the horse.30 miles in studs could at least create tender spots wouldn't you think? My daughter evented, and I know studs were only put in for the trial , then taken off .=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
