Last night we were watching the weather
forecast on TV and this storm was spread from WA state to AZ, and from CA to the
Rockies. We have too much water. Trees are uprooting and falling on the
county road; this morning there was a large tree stump and a lot of mud blocking
one lane of the road. I was moving our cows from one pasture to another
and the cows had to cross the county road. There was water flowing across
the pasture, down a slight swale, and I got the John Deere Gator stuck in the
mud and had to have my husband pull me out with his pickup winch. The
Gator RARELY gets stuck, but it was REALLY stuck this morning. There
was white stuff along the county road in an area that is on the north side of a
hill, deeply forested and dark. I think the white stuff was hail, but it
could have passed for snow. The temp was 34 above at 6 AM. If you
think that doesn't sound very cold, just add coastal humidity and the continuous
series of rain cells passing over us and dumping rain for days and days.
Wet cold is a lot colder than dry cold, and it was cold here this
morning.
