[RC] lien on a horse - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Cordell cordell_rogers@xxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== check your local state laws, but generally to maintain a mechanic's lien (legal term), you have to maintain possession of the horse. Keep the stall locked with a padlock and do not let her remove the horse until the board's paid for. If she won't pay the bill, you can sell the horse at public auction and take your bill out of the proceeds and give her whatever is left over. Again, don't let her remove the horse without paying or you will lose your lien rights. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
