I've seen the damage a rattlesnake can do with his poison, on a person and on a horse.Another thing to look for carefully is poison oak. I've known people who have been very inconvenienced from squatting over poison oak. Not I, thank goodness, as I am nearly immune to the stuff. The only time I catch it is when I've cut the branches with a chainsaw and the oil has spattered on my face. Even then, all it does is burn....form a black spot where the oil touched me....and it doesn't even itch. I just leave it alone and let it heal. Considering all of it I get into when building fences or clearing trail around here, I am very fortunate that I don't react to it more than I do.
