Ever heard of a "spittoon"? A bowl-shaped, usually metal vessel, often with
a funnel-shaped cover, into which tobacco chewers periodically spit. Common
in Western bars. 

Here in the South we typically keep an old metal can on the floorboard to
handle the "Redman" residue.
