For those of you in the Chattanooga,
Tennessee area and vicinity, the April Meeting
of the Southern Appalachian Back Country Horsemen will be held at “Manderleigh”,
the Liz and Kenny Higgins farm in Ooltewah/McDonald, Tennessee. This is a fund raiser for
SABCH and all are invited. An experienced horse packer will cook for us
over a campfire and demonstrate “packing” with his three
horses. All the details are at:
FYI….apparently due to accidents/injuries with
4-wheelers, the FS is no longer allowed to use them for trail maintenance. Perhaps
Dawn could enlighten us as to the details? The next best alternative? Can you
spell “equine”? J Join us and
learn a little about horse packing.
IMHO, it is worth the small cost to visit Manderleigh.
Miles of white fences, beautiful estate, awesome landscaping, and gracious
hosts. Liz participated in Endurance for a time. Join us. You won’t
be disappointed!
