you may know this, but Clinton Anderson has a video out that teaches you how to desensitize your horse to clippers, I think Pat Parelli does too...
 
I have used calming minerals and raspberry leaf for mares and geldings... the calmeze I used would not calm a horse down who  was afraid of clippers...
