Re: [RC] [RC] Pasture Arrangements with Mares/Geldings - Joe LongOn Sun, 5 Mar 2006 12:13:47 EST, Merryben@xxxxxxx wrote: That stallion we got from your neighbor was about 9 when we got him and gelded him. We kept him separate for about 6 months and he was fine with other horses after than. He was a stallion and raced on the track but I don't think he was ever used for breeding. I competed a stallion for a couple of years before moving to Colorado, and he had been used for breeding. As I had only a small five-acre pasture, he was pastured with Kahlil. Our neighbor had a couple of mares across a common fence. I never had any problems. He had been pastured with geldings before I bought him, and there was one gelding that he could never be pastured with -- for some reason he would attack it on sight.
