So are the 108 rides she did that year close to
being accurate?? I think that more than anything blows me away. I think doing 20
a year is a stretch, but 108?? That is amazing. I call her the Bionic
Woman!
We have another amazing lady here in the NW who
has now retired from endurance only cause the body got to old to do it. Check
out Linda Johnson -- (Oregon City, Oregon) record. Check out how many 1st place
and BCs that is woman has and they are with several different horses. Very few
pulls over her lifetime of being mostly in the top 10 and we don't have easy
rides up here. They said she could win a 100 miler on a shetland pony! Ok, so
thats just a NW joke. She was a bit before my time and I wish I could of seen
her ride. I'm sure there were some that were not uphappy when she retired.

I
suggest being careful in looking at the archived rides. Russ and I
spent a year digging out what's there from the old
database.
1. there are no pulls listed as "pulls". that's
why everyone in that period seems to have 100% completion rates.
it's not true...
2. some of the data is inaccurate - perhaps
5-10% of it could be inaccurate. so don't take anything you see
there as absolute proof. we sometimes have the wrong rider on a horse or
the wrong time.
we could not get accurate data at on LD rides from
1984-dec 1995 so we don't display it at all in that period.
all the
records from dec 1, 1995 to the present are accurate.
My understanding
on Trilby - a truly exceptional endurance rider - was that she started in
1984. She has about 60K miles but 3K of them were not allowed by
AERC in one of the years. this produces the 57K miles shown.
others such as Maryben know more of this than I do.
Trilby has the
following official AERC miles in her highest year - 7115 in 1986.
her total miles listed are 60,725 although the 57K is what's shown
online.
