Re: [RC] AHA Sweepstakes Program - rides2far@xxxxxxxxThe AHA Sweepstakes Program has been finalized for 2006- The Endurance folks will get one point for every horse they beat (regardless of the breed, plus one for themselves) at any AHA >>>recognized ride. The rides must be a minimum of 25 miles, So if I win a 100, and beat 20 horses I get fewer points than if I come in 50th place in a 25 with 100 entries? How do they know how the horses placed in a 25 if the ride manager just sends them in in alphabetical order? (don't some do that to de-emphasize speed?) I would think a horse that wanted Sweepstakes points but did one 100 a month wouldn't have a prayer against another who did a 25 every other week. (OK, maybe there aren't AHA rides every week, so let's just say "hits all the rides". Looks like if they do it this way Sweepstakes becomes an LD racing for dollars incentive program and a disensentive to moving up to longer distances. Tell me I'm wrong so I can be relieved.
