==========================================

 We usually are just doing a very fast flat walk,perhaps,in my opinion,too
fast.Then,depending on circumstances,and the particular task the rider is
doing,we often need to canter.Usually,we canter or even gallop a short
distance,when we need to get somewhere as fast as we possibly can in order to
see what is going on up ahead.Very rarely,we may even need to canter for a
couple of miles,but that is unusual.A dog's "scout"(who helps the dog handler)
may canter almost constantly in bad terrain.As I have said before,most folks
don't realize how well a good TWH can SAFELY carry himself and his rider in bad
terrain when it is neccesary to go fairly quickly.(Some) of them have a little
lifting gait out of the RunningWalk that is not quite a lope,and it is very
safe in bad terrain.
