RE: [RC] chevy ads? - Susan E. Garlinghouse, D.V.M.And a friend just told me she ordered a Ford instead the the Chevy she was about to buy because of the ad. Laney If that decision was truly and simply BECAUSE of that ad, she needs to let Chevy know. I did. No, the decision was not 100% based on the Chevy ad, but it was a contributing factor, along with the patronizing attitude of the Chevy salesman when I started asking technical questions. That, along with the advice of a friend who is maintenance supervisor for the So Cal Edison truck fleet (they run Fords, Chevys and Dodges), sealed the deal, and we ordered the Ford F-250 diesel. So I let Chevy know that their "humorous" ad campaign was a factor in their losing a $37,000 sale, and hoped they were enjoying a good chuckle out of that, too.
