Re: [RC] jiggy horse questions... - Karen Sullivan----- Original Message ----- From: "Lynne Glazer" <anyone@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> but most jig from overrestriction with severe bits, hackamores, running martingales which cause bracing when overused. Tell me he's not tense? *Hi Lynne, Good point! Have seen this much also...if a horse is reined in tight, it's practically impossible for them to relax and walk out fast. I also owned a very compact, stocky and 3-circle little polish Arab mare....jigged something awful when I got her....I spend months trying to fix it (I could feel when she would start to jig and check her-then relax reins)....she finally figured out I was not going to make it comfortable, but that she could walk on a loose rein. When that wasn't fast enough for her, she figured out how to do some sort of gait (maybe singlefoot)....so after that she never jigged with me...although got away with it from some others..
