Re: [RC] Storms, generators and living quarters... - Barbara McCraryWe have a big transfer switch box and when the main power goes off, we switch it from main power setting to generator setting. We also have what I call "indicator lights" that are disassociated from the generator power. When the main power is off, the lights are off, and when the main power has been restored the lights go on; then I know to shut down the generator and throw the switch back to the main line connection. Yes, we understand the dangers of running generator power back down the main line and had all this rewired to deal with power failures and generator use. It's a good thing to know and to remind people of.Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: <rides2far@xxxxxxxx> To: <bigcreekranch@xxxxxxxxxx> Cc: <sshaw@xxxxxxxxxxx>; <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, January 01, 2006 2:41 PM Subject: Re: [RC] Storms, generators and living quarters... We have a 10,000 watt generator for justsuch occurrences. It is big enough to power the whole house. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
