[RC] Knee Pain - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

What worked for me was the shock absorbing stirrups, they look
like western stirrups with a rubber doughnut. Can't remember
what they are called. The only problem is if you have small
feet (6.5) in order to get your foot in the stirrup far enough
the top of the stirrup can hit your shin (I have the scars to
prove it), but in talking to the manufacturer I appear to be
the only one with the problem LOL. Now I use the EZ Ride with no problem.

Stirrup leathers-I bought a pair years ago from Synergist they are leather but
they have a bit of stretch. I love them and hope
they have them at convention. They have just enough give.

Don't press down in the stirrups just rest your feet in them.
Meaning don't push your heels down. Relax your thighs so your
thighs so they move with the horse. That doesn't mean your legs
are thumping against the horse, just don't try and ride with
your knees in.

Talk to your doctor and see if you can see a physical
therapist. Your leg muscles may be uneven (inside and outside
muscle which may be pulling your knee cap over. At least
that was how it was explained to me and the exercises they
gave me helped alot. The pain I was experiencing was
excruitiating, I couldn't ride.

Bicycling worked well for me.
