Menes* was imported to the USA from the Tersk Stud,
where he was the Head Sire, into the USA by Aries Arabians, and specifically
chosen by Michael Weinstein at the height of the Arab big-dollar
period.
Being in a small enclosure, like a wash room with
Menes* could be an adventure. He was not a nice person, but made some
beautiful babies with all the pretty girls of the time. Dickens was a
Menes* son by Dark Eyes and he bred Katalina SWSB and out came my gm
Gabriel who is such a nice friendly horse i doubt if he will ever be raced, so
you can't tell anything from him.
The arabs bought a Menes* son out
of Mombasa (Mandela)after he finished the OD 100 in 6th place, his
first 100, and has never been heard from again.
Lynne Gilbert (gm Chagall) did the best of all the
Menes* horses that came my way, and has just found a Menes* daughter she had
been looking for for many years. This is an unregistered mare by
Menes*/Wola SWSB. ( i called her WOMEN, pronounced with the V ).
Lynne would be a good one to discuss whats up with the Menes* line as she
searched a lot and found Ruby.
As a line they were all kind and giving, and tho he
only shows up w/ 400 get there are many more out there. Nancy and a few
others know the line well also. ts
