We once had a 16 h. gelding who was 1/2
Percheron (the light variety) and 1/2 Morgan. He had a phenomenally
fast trot with considerable knee and hock action (got that from both
sides.) When either allowed or asked to trot faster, he would go into a rack
that I could not post. So I just sat in the saddle and away he would go.
Wheee! It was quite an experience.
but what i said was that i couldnt teach a horse how to gait. a
trainer can enhance it some, but cant teach it.
as for trotting horses learning how to gait, hate to sound like a
doubting thomas here, but i would have to see that. are you
sure that is what's going on?
