Then again, sometimes the heart-capturing
doesn't happen for a long time. I bought Banner, sight-unseen (except for
a video) from Montana, and when he got out of the trailer here, he looked
dehydrated and shell-shocked. He didn't look like much, but I had made my
decision and I was going to see what I could make out of him. After he
tried all sorts of little tricks to test me, finally......after his being here
for 9 months........one day he looked me directly in the eye and put his
forehead on my chest and snuggled. I knew then that I had been accepted,
and even though he hasn't the smoothest trot, he is here forever, since I could
never betray his trust, NEVER. Sometimes, capturing your heart takes a little
longer.........
