Carry dynamite in your saddle bags... and a lighter...mind you I have only 
thought about this , haven't actually tried it.Next best is too find a stand 
of trees...flying dismounts are good...pepper spray...or rocks are another 
alternative...Most 4 wheelers are very considerate  I have met ,IF they see 
You....Hovever Alpine will soon hear them before you and move away or off 
the trail...them chasing you is actually a form of assault....
