Re: [RC] collection question - heidiI believe in, and have been told by serious dressage trainers, that a simple three piece snaffle is the way to go. This is, ofcourse, for serious dressage riders. Not sure about endurance. That's my preference for our endurance horses as well. The only one that is in a "harsher" bit is the 18-year-old who was a 4-H horse for years and years and learned how to tune out hands--he goes just fine in a short-shanked solid port mouth Hartwell pelham, and I understand was ridden in a Kimberwicke prior to our riding him. (Actually, after a couple of years of endurance, I think he would be fine back in the French snaffle, but he's used to the pelham and it's "his" bridle now, so I don't make him change.)
