Re: [RC] Pour on pads - Sisu West RanchThe first time I tried putting Equithane into a normally shod hoof, it lasted 1 week, one training ride and 25-30 miles of endurance before it popped out of the hooves. I had put it in early because I don't try anything new before a ride. The next time, I did it on shoes that were one week from a trim. I carefully cleaned out the crud from under the shoe before doing it. It lasted a ride and was there a week later when the shoes were pulled. I have seen horses with the remnants of mesh under the shoes and no evidence of loosening before the next shoeing. My guess is that if you do a careful job of application (clean, alcohol, dry etc.) you probably have a good chance of getting through a ride.
