Re: [RC] Re:scott's reply - sehredtSome folks truly ARE NOT motivated by money Thank God! I hate people who are motivated by money! I have had the "big money" job...but the pressures and stress that came along with it and the lack of time with my family was never worth the pay to me. Same here - I couldn't agree more! I currently have a job where I work 80 hours a week on a routine basis... Now....wouldn't it be nice to have money in the bank and not have to do that?????????????????????? That is ALL I am saying!!!!! I don't know where this other stuff came from. Sorry Scott...think what you may but I have learned the hard way that Money DOES NOT buy happieness...and it no longer motivates me. Why are you apologizing??? LOL I'll think what I may - and I think I'll agree with you! It does not, and never has motivated me. But it sure is nice to have! :o) Scott ---- Tracey Smith <tracey.smith@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Scott: Some folks truly ARE NOT motivated by money and no, that is NOT my attempt to "rationalize" as you say or "look down my nose" at those who have money...it is the honest to goodness truth. Count me in as part of the camp that as long as I have enough money to take care of my family and my horses and be able to enjoy them both, I am happy. I have had the "big money" job...but the pressures and stress that came along with it and the lack of time with my family was never worth the pay to me. I currently have a job where I work 80 hours a week on a routine basis...and because of how my quality of life has suffered am actively interviewing for another job...and will likely take at least some of a pay cut when I accept a new job....but I will be much "richer" in having less stress and more time with my family and friends....so in my mind it is a winning choice. BTW...on the "if I won a million dollars note"...If I did so...I'd be content with a small farm and few aces (I currently board) and like Heidi say...a newer (not necesarily fancier) truck and trailer and put whatever was left away for the future...and pretty much live as I do now. Sorry Scott...think what you may but I have learned the hard way that Money DOES NOT buy happieness...and it no longer motivates me.
