Is Lud one of them, by any chance? He used to ride 5 miles to his
office, put up his horse in a corral made of lumber piles, and ride home again
in the evening. It took him 20 minutes to the office (5 miles of hills),
and somewhat longer on the way home, because he added another 10-12 miles. he
surely kept his horse in shape that way, by riding him to work twice a week and
another long ride on the weekend. He hasn't done that in
years........
