So carefully ACCLIMATE the horse with miles of conditioning, just like
people need to do to race a horse 100 miles over sand.

Unfortunately, this still does not alter the fact that the horse lives
without the boots most of the time, and only has them on when you ride. 
(Unless, of course, you leave them on 24/7--which would hardly be a
healthy situation for the foot, as it can't breath).
