RE: [RC] flax seed - Mike SofenFlax contains agents which are implicated in reducing inflammatory response, plus they are remarkably high in Omega 3 & 6 (anti-oxidants). They also contain phytochemicals that are indicated to have a potentially positive impact on health. This is implied because feeding just flax seed oil (instead of crushed whole flax seed) did not have a similar result in other research. To me, seeing a "shiny coat" is the indicator that therapeutic values of Omegas are circulating on the INSIDE of the horse. Mike -----Original Message----- Flax, flax, flax! LOL What is up with this stuff? Other than talking about a "shinier coat," I haven't heard what benefit it provides to the horse. Okay, maybe I am a little nutritionally ignorant here, I guess, but will someone please post to tell us WHY they feed this supplement? :o) Scott =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
