Re: [RC] AHA registering a foal from deceased stud - Kari HanesWe got news from the registry today - not too good. They want us to provide the cannon bone and teeth to be tested by a forensic lab ($300) plus registration fees ($250 w/amnesty). Sis said no-way are we disturbing him! I hated to even tell her about it. But what a gorgeous foal! Hopefully this will be the endurance prospect she's always wanted.Kari Kari Hanes wrote: My sisters foal was born last night. The stud was originally from our farm, he was shot in May. They wanted to get him registered with the amnesty program but he was killed before that happened. My question is - does anyone know if the AHA makes exceptions for extenuating circumstances like this? I have proof of his lineage, both parents are registered, there are three full siblings of this stud that are also registered. With the situation papers aren't really necessary, we're just estatic about the foal, but I would sure like to surprise her with a solution. I don't really want to contact AHA just yet because it's not my foal and I know they don't like to register purebreds as part arabs. Any suggestions would be appreciated! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
