When I tore my ACL, my Dr asked me a few
questions about my lifestyle. When I told him I was an endurance rider and
skiier, he told me if I wanted to continue to do those things, I needed surgery.
I took his advice and have never reqretted it. I can ride 50 miles with moderate
pain on the downhills toward the end of the ride. I cannot imagine doing
endurance without having surg. Training rides do not bother my knee, nor does
skiing. I take 600mg of Ibuprophen at the lunch stop or sooner if I start
feeling any swelling. Otherwise I do not take it any other time.
I would recommend it..and do your phys.
therapy!! Swim as soon as you can kick..ride a stationary bike as soon as you
can..
Good luck,
Ranelle

ACL
Has anyone out there tore their ACL? My Dr is trying to tell me I
don't need surgery. I'm just worried I won't be able to ride or work my
horses with any stability. Any input would be helpful. You can
mail me privetly. Thanks in advance
