[RC] Platinum Performance.. there is a cheaper way... NOT....Buy Flax seed - Mike SofenI just examined the website for Equi-Flax. There is NO comparison between Platinum Performance and Equi-Flax. They are not even similar. Equi-Flax is primarily a ground flax foodstuff, with completely undisclosed amounts of other nutrients. It contains primarily of Flax seed meal, Wheat bran, Dehydrated alfalfa meal, Ground corn. No vitamin, mineral, or any other compound has been measured or listed. Basically you are paying for someone to grind up flaxseed for you and add other foodstuffs that I personally don't want to feed. Economical? I buy a 50 lb bag of whole flaxseed for about $25 and grind small batches of it myself in a coffee grinder, for a cost of .50/lb. Equi-Flax at best costs $2.35/lb. Since the "other ingredients" are not quantified, they have absolutely no value in a feeding program. Platinum Performance is a tightly defined nutritional supplement, with detailed amounts of every nutrient. The fact that it also contains flax is like saying your truck is identical to my truck because they both have 4 wheels. See the webpage: http://www.platinumperformance.com/animal/equine/products/productcategories/ product.cfm?category_id=190 Then compare it to the blank page at: http://ww.healthy-horse.com/products/jbard/equiflax.htm Flax is a superb nutritional supplement, and I use a 1-2 cups per day per horse, regardless of whatever vit/min supplement I also use. I'll grind my own, thanks. Mike Sofen -----Original Message----- We also used Platinum Performance until the day we realized the same. Equi-Flax is the cheaper of the two and provides the same. God knows we need to save any money we can when owning horses. This is solely a response to support Char with her e-mail. Everyone think about it!! Then one day my farrier asked me what I fed my horses and I gave him my pitch on the best product on earth, Platinum Performance. He gave me a bucket of Equi-Flax and told me try it and that it was the same as Platinum Performance. I looked at the list of ingredients and all except one ingredent was the same! You can buy a 12 lb bucket of Equi-Flax for $38.50. http://ww.healthy-horse.com/products/jbard/equiflax.htm 1-888-644-9333. I have nothing to gain by telling you about the product, I get no discounts for sending customers, etc. I just love the product, I've seen results and it doesn't cut into my pocket book as deep as Platinum Performance.
