[RC] Plastic Shoe Info - kstandeferI have used a couple kinds of plastics. The most recent were Ground Controls. I like them fine if you're only putting them on for one ride. But, leaving them on long term I was disappointed in how the hooves grew. They flared and started falling apart. In addition, I worried that putting them on the rear doesn't allow the hoof to slide enough which could be hard on the joints (no proof, but my horses didn't move out as big with them as with steel or barefoot). I think Rob Kalb's (farrrier) post was right on: http://www.endurance.net/RideCamp/archives/past/05/6/msg00106.html Karen =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
