Re: [RC] Where were you? Long - Barbara McCraryThe worst crash we have ever experienced was my husband's horse. He was uncooperative about drinking on the trail and on one ride, when he finally did drink, at 35 miles, we gave him electrolytes and he promptly started thumping and progressed into colic. He ended up on IV. We had not ridden fast or hard, just moderate and steady. We finally sold that horse because we could see a pattern of refusal to drink on the endurance trail. He went to a pleasure home, and that is much better for him. My husband really liked that horse, too. We're not planning to electrolyte again any time soon. We'll just have to see how it works out with other horses.Barbara --- GarnerT <GarnerT@xxxxxxx> wrote: =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
