RE: [RC] Training a young QH for endurance - Libby & Quentin Llop DVMMy sons Haflinger is built like that, but more so. 13.2 and 850# when he's fit (way more otherwise) It takes a lot more work to cool him, but he's finished all 9 50s that he started. I was just telling my boyfriend yesterday that it's a shame his horse probably couldn't do it, as he's a foundation QH. He loves the trail and is full of spunk every time we take him out. He wants to go and go and is very reluctant to come home. I'm just worried that he is too heavy a build. He's a hair under 14'2" and built like a tank, with heavy muscles, etc. I'm sure I could try some competitive trail rides on him, but I'm not sure he could do 50's. Any thoughts on this? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
