Re: [RC] rides too close together and heavyweight riders - Truman PrevattThe AERC really has little to do with the rides or ride schedules (except for special sanctioned rides). They sanction rides and the sanctioning directors try to keep rides off the same day. However, they cannot dictate who does a ride nor can that dictate that no rides can be run within X (fill in X) number of days of another ride.It is not the AERC's business if a ride makes money or loses money. The ride managers are independent of the AERC. It has worked well that way and you should be happy there are options in your region. If there are sufficient riders in the West to support the number of rides then they all will prosper. If there are not the better rides will rise to the top, and the poorly managed rides will fall to the wayside. But all in all it will reach an equilibrium and at the end of the day the riders are the winners.
