Re: [RC] dressage saddle with flat/shallow seat???? Is there sucha thing? - Truman PrevattKaren Sullivan wrote:Reactor Panel makes a lovely dressage saddle called a Baker Dressage, andI have a short backed and a big round barreled - and I mean short and big - horse. His back is also flat. The only saddle I could find that fit him was the Baker Trail - same tree and seat as the Baker Dressage. The nice thing about the flatter seat is I can ride comfortably in a smaller seat because there is a larger flat area in the seat. This allows shorter tree (larger seat sizes require longer trees) for his short back. It's worked out well for him. I just got to get used to how wide he is. I go from riding the Jbird, tall long elliptical rib cage in a narrow to medium tree to riding Avanti big round rib cage in a very wide tree. Going from one to the other is "interesting." If nothing else - it keeps me flexible.
