Re: [RC] old age - Don HustonHi Jeri,This is a total emergency last-ditch type procedure that I would not use to put down an "old horse". Assume you come upon a terribly injured horse (trailer wreck, fell down a cliff) the horse has thrashed around and now lays slowly dying. Make the "X" from eyes to ears, cover the eyes (so the horse can't see you swing and move his head) then hammer that x with all your might. This would be a horrible experience but a very effective end to suffering if you have no other options. Can someone (probably female) who isn't basically a carpenter ie., skilled with a hammer, do the job? I think if I tried it, I'd either miss the spot the first time, not hit hard enough, or the horse would wander away as I tried to hit it. jeri =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
