I'd only add one thing.  Do and ride or 2 without your 

daughter before starting her. 


I almost said the same thing. I agree. If possible, I'd get the feel of
things without her and see how *my* horse was going to react to the extra
excitement before I became responsible for both. Some of them just grow
fangs when they see speed.
