Re: [RC] Horse kicking in trailer - DESERTRYDR1My friend's horse kicked like crazy in her older two horse trailer which was modified from a Pull slant load so that it was, in effect a Pull stock trailer. That trailer was pulled with a Durango. She doesn't kick at all in the Slant 3H 5th wheel, which is pulled by a big 1T Dodge Diesel. I think it has a lot to do with the way the trailer pulls, and the type of suspension the trailer has, as in how stable it rides. Also. the way a person drives can have a big effect. I know someone whose horse was absolutely panicky in the trailer, scrambled up the ways before the trailer even moved, and almost fell down. The guy drives like a maniac, like he doesn't have a trailer back there, switches lanes without signaling, weaves all over his lane, scary! When I pulled his horses in my 2H slant pull trailer and van, they were quiet the second time, as if they had more confidence they weren't going to be slung all over. I have not had problems with my horses kicking, except the time I loaded my Anglo mare with my girlfriend's Arab mare that she hates, but that's another story...jeri =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
