I've ridden the Death Valley ride in the snow while wearing polypropylene 
socks, and found them quite comfortable.  I got mine from Damart, but I 
don't know whether the company is still in business.  They stopped sending 
me catalogs, but perhaps because I didn't order enough stuff from them.  I 
still have my long-sleeved turtlenecks and my glove liners and my socks from 
about 22 years ago.
