Re: [RC] Bosana Boot - rides2far@xxxxxxxxOOPS! Sorry Bruce, I didn't read your original post before I got caught up in the linguistics battle. TWO broken ribs? BUMMER! Having been flipped on 3 times, and having been the only eye witness to your own first flip I tend to have theories. Kaboot's a daisy cutter and built a little downhill so I think he stubs his own toe and the forward momentum gets him. In your mare's case we were going so slow when it happened that at the time I thought she had stepped on her front heel with the rear and just held it in place making her fall. You might check the heel of the boot for scuff marks. If that's a possibility, is it possible to cut away the heel like you can on an easyboot? I have been impressed with the sturdy construction and durability of the boot, and the fact that they DO NOT come off, as well as the fact that they don't accumulate gunk inside. However, my foxtrotter mare, who is one of the most remarkably surefooted horses I have ever owned, has tripped and gone down twice with me now, both times on good footing. The most recent time was last Saturday, and I have two broken ribs to show for it. My theory is that the boot may diminish the horse's toe clearance, and possibly create an increased opportunity for tripping. I plan on doing the next few workouts without them, and see what happens. I will keep y'all posted. Incidentally, ever wonder what the plural of "y'all" is? Answer: "All y'all."
