[RC] what is World Breeding Endurance Championship for - Pvan19

for foreign horses/riders both must be qualified under FEI rules for  this distance (not necessarily together) - so this depends on your country/federation

and ofcourse your horse must be 7 or 8 years old

As Leonard said this ride is really the final step of a selection process of young endurance horses which starts when they are 4 years old and they do their first 20 or 30 km (set speed) ride and ends with 90 km's when they are 6

The great thing about this is that the rides for young horses are not subject to a ranking (1st, 2nd etc.) but use a grading system based on how close the horse came to the maximum set speed and how fast it recuperated ( for example a horse pulsing down within 10 minutes after the ride instead of 30 gets awarded an extra point)  Grading ranges from Excellent to Qualified

These rides are great - the babies are learning and mostly all over the place and the vets & volunteers work with this...

The Compiègne ride is altogether a different story where the real stuff starts - yes it is very tough - but than these horses have come thru the system and proven that they should be up to it

Fantastic ride to watch - all this potential!! And ofcourse a good place to look for a  horse..which ofcourse is the whole point as it encourages breeders and develops the market...
